Our approach to early childhood education and care centralises the child as an active agent in their own learning, valuing the
individual identity each child brings to our child care and early education centres. We recognise the significance of building
meaningful relationships between families, carers and educators as fundamental in supporting the learning and development of
all children.
We are of the belief that children are capable, curious, competent and creative learners who are eager to seek new knowledge
through exploring their interests both independently and collaboratively.
We wholly understand and believe that every child is different and unique, we strive to build relationships where they feel
welcome, included and empowered to build, grow and shine together.
At Total Care Early Learning Centre, we recognise that every child is an individual and therefore all children are encouraged to share their thoughts, skills, abilities, and beliefs in our service. We work towards teaching and empowering each child with life skills allowing them to enter the world as strong well-rounded individuals.
Our program is based on the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the embedded themes of being, belonging and becoming, the stages of development and the importance of learning through play.
The EYLF recognises that children learn best through play. We use this framework to create and plan our programs and curriculum that cater to our children’s interests, best utilizing their strengths, abilities and ideas. With a heavy focus on play based learning, EYLF recognises the importance of language and communication coupled with social and emotional development.
Throughout our curriculum we embed a scholastic component which focuses on enhancing your child’s academic skills. This is also known as our School Readiness Program. Getting ready for school requires a strong foundation to assist with the fun journey of learning. School readiness starts in the nursery room, transitions into the toddler room, and then flourishes in the preschool room. In the final year before school, we aim to ensure that children are given the maximum opportunity to learn new skills and refine existing abilities.
