We are mindful in our daily practices of the importance of recycling and reusing and allow the children opportunities to be involved in understanding why and how we do this. This is done by using and tending to our veggie garden not only for our menus but also to teach children the beneficial impact of growing our own food can have on the environment, to composting our waste and our can and bottle collection bin promoting not only the importance of recycling but using the funds collected to donate to our chosen charities.
At Total Care we provide freshly cooked meals daily. Our Menu rotates over five weeks including a variety of delicious recipes. Our Menu has been carefully created with the guidance of the ‘Australian Dietary Guidelines’.
Food should not only be nutritious but also meet the social, cultural and educational needs of children. We teach your child to make smart food choices through our ‘Munch and Move’ Program which we focus on each and every day. Our aim is to build positive eating habits.
Meal times are a much loved part of many family and social gatherings, as such we work closely with our families to develop suitable menus for all our children. We also provide alternative menus to accommodate food allergies, cultural and religious preferences.
The children also participate in cooking activities where they can enjoy what they made as part of the services menu. (Children’s allergies are always a priority when the educators implement cooking experiences.)
